21/12/2016 Further funds for Wondrous Fig Tree script

Hungary’s National Film Fund has awarded a second round of script development funding to Librecine’s children’s film project The Gift of the Wondrous Fig Tree. Script writer Attila Veres and producers Anna Jancsó and Krisztina Endrényi will deliver the second draft of the screenplay in late March 2017. The development is carried out in cooperation with the Hungarian National Film Fund’s in-house development team.

The project is based on the novel ‘Lala the Fairy Prince’, by New York Times favourite author Magda Szabó.

12/11/2016 Thessaloniki awards for Behind the Haystacks

Librecine’s BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS by writer-director Asimina Proedrou received two of this year’s Crossroads Awards at Thessaloniki IFF: CNC’s script development cash award and Inititative Film’s consultancy award.

Argonauts Productions, one of Greece’s most prominent production houses, was attached to the project ahead of its presentation at Crossroads. Argonauts is the producer of over 15 feature film and television titles, amongst them Yannis Economides’s Stratos.


18/10/2016 Behind the Haystacks at Thessaloniki Crossroads

Librecine will be taking Greek filmmaker Asimina Proedrou’s feature film project BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS to the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s CROSSROADS Coproduction Market, where we will be competing for one of the market’s prestigious awards.

CROSSROADS, held between 8-12 November 2016, aims to ‘support the producers of feature-length film projects that are linked to the Mediterranean and Balkan regions in finding the right partners to finance and accomplish their projects’.

Behind the Haystacks was previously participant of the Sarajevo Script Lab (2015), Berlinale Script Station (2016) and is currently partaking in First Film First 2016-2017.

23/8/2016 Anna Jancsó amongst Producers Lab Toronto participants

Librecine’s Anna Jancsó is among 10 European producers selected for the 2016 Producers Lab Toronto. The event takes place during TIFF between September 6-9.

Now in its seventh year, the initiative for emerging producers is run by European Film Promotion in collaboration with Ontario Media Development Corporation and Toronto International Film Festival.

Anna Jancsó and Krisztina Endrényi will be presenting the upcoming adaptation of Magda Szabó’s classic children’s novel ISLAND BLUE to potential co-producers, talent agents and buyers on May 15 at 11:00 AM at the Literary Adaptation Pavilion (Village International Pantiero – Pavillon 220), as part of the  Best-Seller-to-Box-Office international co-production pitching session.
